What kind of game is EVE?
EVE is an action-adventure game. It depicts the adventure of a girl and her companions as they go on a journey to save mankind on a ruined Earth. It's a single-player game currently being developed for PS5.
Please tell us more in detail.
At the peak of its golden age in all history, mankind is suddenly taken down by unexpected enemies called the NA:tives after losing the battle. Since then, the path to rapid downfall unfolds. Those who managed to survive flee to the Colony in outer space, and Earth ends up falling into ruin. Time passes, and once settled in the Colony, mankind resolves to reclaim back Earth and sends EVE paratrooper units down. Among the survivors is Eve, the main heroine. As she befriends other survivors on Earth and grows, she endeavors to save Earth from the NA:tives.
How is the development going?
We have progressed about halfway through the development. Many parts of the system are complete, and the resources are currently at the mass production stage. Since we still have a long way to go, we would love for many talented developers to apply.

Hello, I'm Dong-Ki Lee, Technical Director of EVE Studio. As Technical Director, I am in charge of establishing and executing the project's roadmap.
EVE Team's Strength
EVE's dev team is a team of young developers. Working on Project EVE, we listen to each individual developer's opinion and build up on the development know-how we pick up on the way. We are in the process of searching for what works well for us on a trial and error basis, and this creates an optimal environment to improve together and accumulate know-how along the way.
Characteristics of the Tasks for EVE Engineers
Based on multi-platforms, we carry out tasks regarding tools, the game system, and engine programming that are necessary for the production of a 3D action game. Geared towards the latest consoles, we conduct R&D and testing of the newest technology, such as Ray Tracing, FSR, new Unreal features (Niagara, Groom), and haptics. This kind of technology is not commonly experienced in the mobile environment, and it is done in a highly compatible environment with best-quality graphics. This will be an exciting challenge for those who are thirsty for new technology and a high level of completion.

Direction of Project EVE's Combat System
Simple yet profound, the combat action is all about various options you're given and a series of constant attack and defense. The enemy's each move is deliberate, and this allows the players to counter it with appropriate moves and lead the battle to their own advantage. We doing our best so that even relatively less skilled players can enjoy the colorful action of the game.
What Combat Design Team Looks for in a Developer
We prefer someone who appreciates single-player action games. Anyone who likes to incorporate diverse elements of action games into the battles and design a fun game experience is welcome.

Art Team
We are in charge of the visual concept that represents the worldview of our game. This includes everything from the main obejcts like the characters, costumes, and creatures to the minor objects like items. We consider this inception point a crucial part of making the game.
What Happens within Art Team
Project EVE is sci-fi based, which is not mainstream like the fantasy genre in the Korean market. This makes each concept of the process a huge challenge. Besides the traditional method of creating the concept art and converting to 3D, we regularly make new attempts. For example, we acquire the 3D data of the costumes by scanning the actual outfit in real life and use it to complete the concept art. As for the creatures, we first make their sculptures by hand and scan them afterwards. We also use 3D programs like Zbrush and Blender for anything that might be tricky to express in 2D. Being flexible with the above-mentioned methods is not always easy. But the satisfaction you get at the end is that much greater, which makes the process all the more enjoyable.
What Art Team Looks for in a Developer
We are looking for someone who has a solid background in drawing as well as who captures well the concept of the characters/creatures and come up with high-quality concept art based thereon. Also, besides the basic drawing skills, competency in sculpting and utilizing 3D programs such as Zbrush and Blender would be a big plus. However, the most important of all would be the competency to express the visuals of the sci-fi genre.

Our project itself is a huge challenge. The sci-fi genre that I encountered as a kid through countless games, movies, and animes, and the very same genre that I've always wanted to work on ever since becoming a concept artist... To be able to give it my all as a member of such project is an overwhelming opportunity. The process might not always be smooth, but I would like to share this journey with other amazing artists.

Animation Team
Our Animation Team is responsible for bringing to life all the creatures that appear in the game. The monsters in the game are not just enemies who merely attack the player. They are creatures who live in this world and feel animosity towards the strangers that disturb their lives. On the other hand, the player is new to this unfamiliar world. She is clumsy at first but is determined to complete the mission through exploration. And we, as Animation Team, try our best to express these emotions of each side as clearly as possible.
What Happens within Animation Team
Our team has an internal performance capture studio for movement research and motion capture purposes. The studio is freely available to all animators without any restrictions. We use this place to discuss and develop the creatures' traits and the direction of the skills by moving our body and capturing our own motion. Plus, this studio is also equipped for facial captures and camera directing, which we actively utilize and incorporate into the game production.
What Animation Team Looks for in a Developer
With the goal to create realistic character movement and stylish action, we are looking for someone who has a great taste. Also, since all motion captures are done internally, someone experienced in or comfortable with motion capture would be great. Competency in basic rigging and script work is a plus.

As a game developer, an opportunity to work on an action game for consoles is not common. In particular, being able to utilize motion-capture as much as you want would be a great addition to your experience as an animator.
